Dr. Aerin Jacob

Biography

Dr. Aerin Jacob is the director of science and research at the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and an adjunct professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. Her research on animal behaviour, forest and coastal ecology, and conservation biology has taken her from Africa to the Arctic. Aerin was previously a conservation scientist at the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Victoria, where she worked on coastal and marine spatial planning on the central coast of British Columbia. She earned her PhD at McGill University, studying forest restoration strategies to support wildlife and local communities in Uganda.
