Wildfire Event Calgary

The Canadian Mountain Network, with the Arctic Institute of North America (University of Calgary), is organizing a workshop that will focus on ‘Building Resilience to Mountain Wildfires by Weaving Indigenous and Scientific Ways of Knowing.’ We are hoping that you might consider attending the workshop and perhaps also present aspects of related knowledge.

The event will be held in Calgary from 26-28 February 2024 and will also be accessible online. We acknowledge - and apologize - that the timeline is very short.

There will be no registration charge: in-person participants will be provided with breakfast and lunch, and there will be an evening ‘icebreaker’ reception. We will cover lodging costs for up to 40 participants at the venue hotel and aim to contribute to transportation costs.

If you would like to attend, please complete the form below and return it to michaela.allchin@ucalgary.ca as soon as possible. If you are planning to present knowledge, please complete the relevant additional details.

If you know of others who may be interested in the event, whether as a presenter or general participant, please forward them a copy of the same form.
